Class VII, usually micro prismatic, flexible material, the service life is generally 3 years, can be used for temporary traffic signs and operating area facilities.

American Society for Testing and Materials is a long history of international testing standards for materials, the English name for the Association of Standard Testing of Materials, referred to as ASTM, its establishment, is to the scientific community and industry to provide a range of material testing standards , In order to achieve the definition of new materials for the world of science, to provide a common platform for the exchange of technology. For the retro-reflective materials, as well as oil, natural gas, chemical and other industries in a lot of materials, to provide standardized technical support testing.

In view of this technical traceability, ASTM standards for the detection of retroreflective materials, but also with the retroreflective materials invented and used, the cumulative, each time a new material, as long as the material appears for some time and by its Manufacturers to apply to join the ASTM, its committee will authorize the classification of such materials, the establishment of testing standards. The following two classification methods are proposed by the US Federal Highway Administration on the basis of ASTM.
